Please read these Terms of Use (“Terms”, “Terms of Use”) carefully before using the https://uttlesfordcommunitytravel.org website (the “Service”) operated by Uttlesford Community Travel (“us”, “we”, or “our”).

Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users and others who access or use the Service.

By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms then you may not access the Service.

Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Uttlesford Community Travel and its licensors.

Links To Other Web Sites

Our Service may contain links to third-party web sites or services that are not owned or controlled by Uttlesford Community Travel.

Uttlesford Community Travel has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party web sites or services. You further acknowledge and agree that Uttlesford Community Travel shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any such content, goods or services available on or through any such web sites or services.

We strongly advise you to read the terms and conditions and privacy policies of any third-party web sites or services that you visit.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend access to our Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.

All provisions of the Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity and limitations of liability.

Disclaimer

Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement or course of performance.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of United Kingdom without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between us regarding our Service, and supersede and replace any prior agreements we might have between us regarding the Service.

Changes

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material we will try to provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.

By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, please stop using the Service.

GROUP BOOKINGS T&C’S

Group Bookings

All confirmed bookings are subject to cancellation fees:

Cancellations up to 2 working days before travel – 20% of cost of trip

Cancellations 2 working days or less before travel – 100% of cost of trip

Vehicles will not be reserved until confirmation is received from the Hirer either by

Deposits are not taken.

A Register of those travelling to include names and contact telephone numbers, must be handed to the driver at the start of the trip.

A mobile phone contact number for the organiser or responsible person travelling on the day must be supplied to the UCT office at least 2 days before travel.  

Journeys are invoiced in arrears and are due for payment within 7 days of date of invoice.

Children 16 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult escort at all times. Failure to supply an escort will result in the journey being cancelled and the full charge being levied.

It is the responsibility of the organiser/group leader to ensure the vehicle is left in a clean and tidy condition. Failure to comply will result in an ADDITIONAL CHARGE of two hundred and fifty pounds (£250) being added to the invoice.

There is a strict NO SMOKING policy in the vehicles.

Seat belts must be worn unless a passenger is in possession of a Seat Belt Medical Exemption Certificate, a copy of which must be supplied to the General Manager at the UCT office. NO BELT NO TRIP

Group Bookings – Group’s Own Driver

When driven by a group’s own driver, accident claims carry an excess of £250

 Please ensure the vehicle is left in a clean and tidy condition. Failure to comply will result in an ADDITIONAL CHARGE of two hundred and fifty pounds (£250) being added to the invoice.

Our vehicles are highly visible and are required to be driven in a courteous manner with consideration for other road users at all times.

All vehicles have FuelGenie Fuel Cards on board. Fuel Genie cards can be used to purchase fuel at Tesco, Sainsbury and Morrison’s. If necessary, use to top up diesel to a minimum level of a quarter of a tank at the end of the hire.

There is a strict NO SMOKING policy in the vehicles.

Legal Obligations for all Drivers

The vehicle becomes the responsibility of the driver for the duration of the journey.

At the start of the journey the vehicle must undergo a roadworthy inspection carried out by the driver as per the Defect Sheet supplied as part of the runsheet.

In the event of an Accident or any incident involving a UCT vehicle please ensure the correct procedures are adhered to.

Breakdown procedures and emergency telephone numbers are held in the vehicles in a red DRIVER FOLDER.

Mobile phones can only be used when the vehicle is stationary and the engine is turned off. This instruction also applies to satellite navigation and audio systems.

If you have stated to DVLA that you drive with spectacles failure to do so will result in the vehicle being impounded if you are stopped by the police or DVSA Inspectors. (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency)

INDIVIDUAL BOOKINGS T&C’S

All confirmed bookings are subject to cancellation fees: Cancellations up to 2 working days before travel – 20% of cost of trip. Cancellations 2 working days or less before travel – 100% of cost of trip.

The service is subject to availability on a first come first served basis. Please give as much notice as you can, bookings made within one week of travel may be difficult to accommodate.

Please note that bookings for shopping, visiting etc can be made one month in advance. Bookings for medical appointments can be made as soon as you have your appointment.
